Project 333, Phase 3: The List

My final Project 333, Phase 3 selections!

I've actually been living with these select items for quite sometime. However, life managed to sidetrack me (as so often it does), and I haven't been able to formalize and publish the list until now. I have utilized the (++) symbol to designate which items are repeat players from previous Phases. And as I've been living with this wardrobe for several weeks now, I've been taking photos of outfits that I've put together, regularly. It's the first time I've done this, and I like it! It's key for me, since one main goal of this Phase, was to achieve a creatively diverse wardrobe out of the mere 33 I selected. The photos will help me assess if I was successful. The photos are also a nice little montage of my various ensembles (successful or otherwise) . ..overall, a great reference when I'm in an outfit "pinch". I'll be sharing some of those photos on here too, once I pull them together.

to replace my overly-huge Irving Bag. It worked out for a month
or two until I realized that I sorely missed my overly-huge Irving Bag.
Packing the Mims for a day at the office was a chore! Lunch, iPad, water bottle. ..
all contents had to be strategically placed like puzzle pieces,
if they were all going to fit. Ugh! I really need something in-between.
For now, I will  revert back to the Irving.

* Anyone that knows the "rules" of Project 333,
knows that while accessories and jewelry definitely
count . .. undergarments and tights, do not!
I have a few items in my arsenal that are
technically undergarments, but I love to
let them show or, on occassion, even wear them
on the outside (they are way too pretty to hide,
after all).  They have been listed here, since they
are so integral to the wardrobe as a whole,
and I'm just grateful I don't have to count them!!

ORIGINAL POST

Here is my living, breathing Project 333, Phase 3 list! (Read my previous post "Project 333. . Perhaps?" to learn more about Project 333.) This list is a work in progress for now, as I try to get the final selections figured out. I am over by 7 things 3 things, so I will be spending the next few days deliberating over which of my lovelies must go (any feedback or advice would definitely be welcome, so feel free to chime in). For this go around, I decided to mark those items that are repeat players (++). . .or should I say "potential repeat players"? It certainly is interesting to see what are truly my go-to items.

25. Zandora Boots ++
(Steve Madden)
These have seen a lot of wear. And because they are a cheaper boot,
they are not holding up to the test of time very well.
What can I say...you get what you pay for! They are wearing out so badly that they
will probably not make it through this winter. I hope to replace them with a
pair of Trippens that I've had my eye on for sometime now: Trippen Medea

and introducing. . . . .

27. Cate The Great Boots
in Pewter/Kettle
(Sorel)
I've just treated myself to these super warm boots!
(In fact, as of right now, they have yet to be delivered --
they are expected by week's end!) I deliberated long and hard
over this purchase. I really needed a pair of warm and waterproof
snow boots, and Sorels are about as hardcore as snow boots get.
If it wasn't for a killer deal, I probably wouldn't have been able to
afford them. .. so a big hooray for internet (bargain) shopping!!

**UPDATE: they've arrived, and i am truly in love. love.**

R.I.P.
Constructed of authentic Moon Tweed, straight from London,
the Boden British Tweed blazer was an investment piece
and a staple of last Winter's P333. I will sadly be retiring this
jacket indefinitely, since it is simply too big on me.
I had it altered at the beginning of the Fall, to take-in the sides.
However, without reconstructing the arm holes, it just isn't ideal.
I got a last few good weeks out of it, and then, after subsequent
weight loss, it became painfully obvious that this jacket simply
would no longer work for me.

And so, British Tweed Blazer, I bid thee farewell.

  1. Hard to narrow it down, but if it were me, I'd pack away #s 7 and/or 8, 14, 19, either 29 or 30, and either 39 or 40. I find I need less variety in blouses if I can wear different cardis over them. Yay P333!

  2. thanks, bev! i appreciate you taking the time to evaluate my list. i value your opinion (seeing that you've been down this road a few times yourself!) and was actually thinking some of the same things you suggested.

  3. Great post! I love how you showed photos of all of your pieces and have X's over the things that left your wardrobe. I'm also doing Project 333, but this is my first time (started in April). Unlike you, I chose too many items that are similar to each other, which is leading me to feel bored with my wardrobe. I guess you learn as you go along...

I read that you are Beverly are planning to do 52 for 52! That is quite an ambitious undertaking, but it doesn't sound as scary to me now as it would have back in March. I wish you the very best of luck and look forward to reading about your experience!

  4. thanks, debbie! you definitely learn as you go . .. . you pick up tricks for economizing and piggy-backing off what you do have. and you also learn about yourself and your personal dressing behaviour. all this knowledge will help you plan better/easier in future phases!

i do hope you continue with future phases. i live in new england, where we have crazy weather swings from one season to the next. i always find it exciting and refreshing to plan wardrobes for the various seasons. but i have always taken at least a month or two off between phases. it’s funny how whenever a phase ends, clothes that have been packed away in the basement will slowly find their way back into my armoire. the wardrobe grows slowly (...almost without me even noticing!) until i reach the point of inefficiency, and i realize why i started doing this project in the first place! and then i happily start up another phase all over again.
